The Slieve Bloom Mountains Nature Reserve is a unique area situated in the heart of the country. The Nature Reserve is a haven for wildlife and is managed for nature; both the habitat, and the species which rely on it for their survival. It is therefore a sensitive environment, particularly for ground nesting birds who can be deterred from nesting and producing a brood if disturbed.
